Doctors Without Borders warns of the deterioration of health services for pregnant women in Sudan

March 4, 2024 (PEN) Doctors Without Borders has confirmed the need for maternity services throughout the country, in light of the limited functioning health facilities and the lack of health services available in the country.

The organization stated that pregnant women face severe risks or difficulties in reaching health care facilities in some areas due to the ongoing fighting and lack of means of transportation. According to Doctors Without Borders, many of them arrive in critical conditions or give birth at home.

She added that it provides maternity care at the Turkish Hospital, Bashaer Hospital, and Umm Dawaban Hospital in Khartoum State.
