November 26, 2024 (PEN) Four countries held a meeting on the sidelines of the expanded session of the second ministerial meeting of the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) in the Italian city of Fiuggi, to discuss developments in the Sudanese crisis.

The meeting, which was attended by the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United States of America, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, discussed ways to achieve an immediate ceasefire.

The meeting also stressed the importance of working to calm the situation and enhance humanitarian efforts to confront the repercussions of the conflict, in addition to the necessity of implementing the commitments contained in the Jeddah Declaration regarding the protection of civilians, and creating conditions to support a Sudanese-Sudanese political process that ensures the stability of the country and preserves its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
