Meteorology warns of heavy rains and thunderstorms in several areas of Sudan

August 31, 2024 (PEN) The General Authority for Meteorology said that very heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms are expected in several areas including central Red Sea State, eastern Blue Nile State, West Kordofan State, northern South Darfur State, East and Central Darfur States, in addition to the northern and southern parts of North Darfur State.

The authority stated that flash floods are likely to occur in these areas. The authority added that citizens in the affected areas should take precautions, stay away from valleys and creeks, and organize their outdoor activities according to warnings. It is also advised to avoid dilapidated houses and drive carefully on highways.

The Authority called on the concerned authorities and local authorities to take the highest levels of caution and preparedness to face these expected weather conditions.
