The Executive Secretary of IGAD discusses the situation in Sudan with the US Assistant Secretary of State

April 18, 2024 (PEN) The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeho, said he had fruitful discussions with the US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Molly Fee, on the sidelines of the World Bank Spring Meetings.

Gebeho explained in his tweet on (X) that the discussions focused on the geopolitical and security situation in the region, with a special focus on the conflict in Sudan. He added that the meeting stressed the commitment of both sides to continue cooperation and collective work in order to achieve stability, security and peace in the region.
