The US State Department calls on the parties to the conflict to allow the flow of humanitarian aid into El Fasher

May 16, 2024 (PEN) US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the United States is imposing sanctions on two leaders of the Rapid Support Forces for their role in threatening peace and security in Sudan, including recent attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces near El Fasher.

Miller added that this attack must stop, and all parties must allow the movement of humanitarian aid.

He stated that the United States will continue to use the tools at its disposal to impose consequences for the attack on El Fasher, systematic violations of international humanitarian law, and other atrocities committed against the Sudanese people.
