Saudi Arabia welcomes the Security Council resolution calling for a cessation of hostilities in Sudan during Ramadan

March 9, 2024 (PEN) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of a resolution calling for a cessation of hostilities in Sudan during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed its hope that all Sudanese parties would adhere to the decision, in a way that would preserve Sudan and the lives of its people.

The Kingdom renewed its call to the warring parties to adhere to the outcomes of the Jeddah talks aimed at achieving the interest of the Sudanese people by agreeing on a project to stop hostilities and resolve the crisis through political dialogue.
