The Executive Secretary of IGAD meets with the special African Union delegation on Sudan

9 March 2024 (PEN) The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeho, expressed his pleasure at hosting the high-level African Union delegation on Sudan, headed by Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, today in his office.

He said that constructive discussions had taken place on advancing the peace process in Sudan, emphasizing the vital cooperation between the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Union.

Workah added, "The people of Sudan truly deserve peace, and we are steadfast in our commitment to work tirelessly to reach a lasting peaceful solution."
