Federal Health: 183 new cholera cases recorded without deaths in Sudan

October 6, 2024 (PEN) The Federal Ministry of Health said that the Federal Emergency Operations Center held its regular meeting today, Sunday, in the emergency hall of the Public Health Laboratory in Kassala city.

The cholera epidemiological situation report reported 183 new cases on Saturday, October 5, from four states: Kassala, River Nile, Red Sea, and Gadarif, without any new deaths. This brings the cumulative number of cases to 20,883, including 603 deaths.

The health promotion report also confirmed the implementation of several activities and interventions to combat cholera in the affected states, such as community dialogues, home visits, and dissemination of messages through the media and social media.

In a related context, the fall report indicated that no new reports were received, which means that 54 localities in 11 states are still affected.
