World Health Organization expresses dismay at the closure of the South Hospital in El Fasher

June 10, 2024 (PEN) The World Health Organization has expressed deep concern and dismay at the recent attacks on the South Hospital in El Fasher, Darfur, which is the only facility with surgical capacity in that region.

The organization confirmed that the closure of the hospital as a result of the attack had overwhelmed the other two hospitals in the area, restricting access to vital health services.

In related news, the organization expressed its shock at news of another attack on a health facility in Wadi Al Noura in Gezira State, which resulted in the death of a nurse while performing her duty of caring for patients.
