Health reveals increasing cases.. Cholera and dengue fever threaten Sudan

November 29, 2024 (PEN) The Federal Ministry of Health announced on Thursday the registration of 221 new cases of cholera in eight states, including two deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 43,490, including 1,187 deaths.

The ministry explained, in a statement, that the new infections were recorded in the states of: Khartoum, Al-Jazirah, Al-Qadarif, Kassala, River Nile, Northern, White Nile, and Sennar.

The statement added that 15 new cases of dengue fever were recorded, bringing the total number of cases to 8,008, including 16 deaths.

The Sudanese authorities declared a cholera epidemic in the country on August 12, while on September 19, they recorded 232 suspected cases of dengue fever, including two deaths.
