The United Nations Population Fund denounces the bombing of the Saudi hospital in Darfur

June 25, 2024 (PEN) The United Nations Population Fund expressed its strong condemnation of the attack on the Saudi maternity hospital in the Darfur region of Sudan, which is the only facility providing maternity care for approximately 40,000 pregnant women trapped in El Fasher.

According to reports received, the hospital was bombed by the Rapid Support Forces, in a move that endangered the lives of pregnant women and healthcare staff.

He called on the Fund to stop targeting hospitals, as this blatant attack comes after more than 14 months of ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan.
