USAID expresses its shock at the extent of displacement and suffering in Sudan

January 15, 2024 (PEN) The United States Agency for International Development expressed its shock at the scale of displacement and suffering in Sudan during the past nine months.

The agency confirmed in a tweet on the (X) platform that interference in humanitarian operations, including preventing access to those in need and plundering humanitarian supplies, impedes the arrival of aid to those who are in dire need of it.

There has been a conflict in Sudan since April 15, 2023 between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, which has led to the displacement of millions and a catastrophic deterioration in the humanitarian situation, according to international reports.
