New electricity programming in Port Sudan after a major transformer went out of service

June 18, 2024 (PEN) The Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company announced that it was forced to implement urgent programming to distribute the electrical supply in the city of Port Sudan, after one of the transformers in the main transmission station went out of service as a result of a sudden malfunction. The company explained that this malfunction caused a shortage in the electrical supply, which required dividing distribution into two periods: morning and evening, each extending from 12 to 14 hours.

The company confirmed that all employees of the transportation and distribution companies are in full readiness and are working to fix the fault as quickly as possible. She appealed to citizens to rationalize electricity consumption to reduce loads during the maintenance period. The company also apologized to its customers for the inconvenience resulting from this holiday, noting the importance of taking the necessary precautions to ensure that daily life continues with the least possible impact.
