Jaafar Hassan sheds light on the path to stopping the war in Sudan

February 4, 2024 (PEN) The official spokesman for Freedom and Change, Jaafar Hassan Othman, confirmed that the process of stopping the war includes important stages, the first of which begins with the cessation of hostilities, where direct negotiations take place between the warring parties.

Othman indicated in a statement that the operation also includes stopping the shooting and facilitating the arrival of humanitarian aid, along with evacuating civilian areas and enabling the displaced to return to their homes.

The official spokesman stressed the importance of the role of civilians in the ceasefire through a political process that discusses the causes of the outbreak of war and security arrangements, until a permanent ceasefire is reached without causing a reaction from both parties to the conflict to rearm.
