A dispute before the UNHCR in Egypt ends with the tragedy of the killing of a Sudanese woman

July 15, 2024 (PEN) Egyptian media said that the city of 6 October witnessed a tragic incident in front of the UNHCR, where a Sudanese woman was killed by a bullet fired by a Sudanese man during a dispute that broke out between them. The perpetrator fled immediately after the accident occurred.

The Giza Security Directorate received a notification from the October Investigation Department stating that gunfire had been heard in the vicinity of the UNHCR and that a victim had been killed. Security forces immediately moved to the scene of the accident, and examination revealed that the victim, a woman in her fifties, had died from a gunshot wound.

The media revealed that the Criminal Investigation Department in Giza is working intensively to arrest the fugitive accused and bring him to justice. A report was drawn up regarding the incident and the Public Prosecution was notified, which initiated investigations and took appropriate legal measures.
