Martin Schweib and Ali Al-Sadiq discuss the country's humanitarian needs

January 23, 2024 (PEN) The Director of Operations at the International Committee of the Red Cross, Martin Schoep, met today, Tuesday, with Foreign Minister Ali Al-Sadiq in Port Sudan, where the two sides discussed the humanitarian needs in the country.

The two parties also discussed the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross to support those affected, with Martin stressing the role, mandate and acceptance of the International Committee.

It is noteworthy that the International Committee of the Red Cross has participated in humanitarian interventions since the outbreak of the conflict on April 15 of last year between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces.
