An American official calls for more international support for the Sudan crisis

June 17, 2024 (PEN) The United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, indicated in a tweet on the (X) platform that the United States has provided more than $315 million in additional humanitarian assistance to people affected by the conflict in Sudan. “This funding will provide much-needed relief to those experiencing tremendous suffering in Sudan and the region,” Greenfield said in her tweet.

The ambassador explained the importance of this aid in alleviating the worsening humanitarian crisis, noting the need to increase international efforts to provide more support. She added: “I call on others to do more and give more, so that we can increase life-saving aid to people living under the worst humanitarian emergency in the world.”
