The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees confirms the displacement of 7.5 million people since the outbreak of the conflict

January 20, 2024 (PEN) The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said that more than 7.5 million people have been forced to flee their homes since the outbreak of war in Sudan in mid-April last year.

The Commission explained that despite the efforts made by humanitarian organizations to provide aid, the humanitarian situation remains bad.

She added that the fighting expanded to other parts of the country other than the capital, Khartoum, which led to civilian deaths and injuries, forcing more of them to flee.

The UNHCR urged the world not to forget the current situation in Sudan.
