Molly confirms that there is no acceptable military solution to the conflict in Sudan

February 13, 2024 (PEN) US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Molly reiterated continued US support for the full participation of women in governance in Sudan.

This came during her meeting with representatives of Sudanese women's civil society organizations, where she indicated that there is no acceptable military solution to the conflict in Sudan, stressing the necessity of forming a comprehensive civilian transitional government in the post-conflict period.

In related news, Molly Fee stressed that the future of Sudan after the conflict depends on the formation of a broad, comprehensive, pro-democracy civil front in order to determine the priorities of the transitional period and unify the voice on issues that concern the Sudanese.

Following her meeting with representatives of the Taqaddam Coordination, the US Assistant Secretary of State praised the coordination’s efforts to continue diversification to include a wide range of viewpoints, voices, peoples and backgrounds, as she put it.
