The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate mourns the media activist “Showtime”

June 29, 2024 (PEN) The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate mourned the media activist Ibrahim Abdullah, known as “Showtime,” who was killed when a shell fell on his house in the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state. The union praised the deceased’s role in covering the events of the December Revolution, as he devoted his efforts to documenting and transmitting them through the media, especially during the sit-in at the General Command.

The union expressed its deep sadness at the loss of a media activist who contributed a lot in covering the revolution, using live broadcasting technology via social media. The union also reported that it had lost nine journalists since the outbreak of war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in April of last year.

The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate offered its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, asking God to bless “Showtime” with His mercy and place it in His spacious paradise with the two friends and martyrs.
