Wali Sennar directs to tighten control over markets

September 11, 2023 (SUNA) The Wali of Sennar, Mr. Tawfiq Muhammad Ali Abdullah, directed the Standards and Metrology Department in the state to tighten control over the markets in order to oblige traders to the Standards and Metrology Law, calling for the need to adhere to the scientific calibration systems.

This came when he met today with the Director of the Sudanese Organization for Standardization and Metrology, Sennar State Branch, Mr. Abayezid Sheikh Al-Tayeb, in the presence of the Secretary General of the State Government, Mr. Abdul Azim Abu Daraa.

Tawfiq explained that they in the state are in great need to benefit from the state's resources and market them in a way that adheres to specifications and standards.

The Director of Standards and Metrology reviewed his vision in establishing slaughterhouses in the state with specifications that preserve the health of the citizen and how to benefit from the state's agricultural products and promote them to the foreign market.

Aba Yazid also gave an explanation to the governor regarding the field of work of Sudanese specifications and measures of weights and preserving the health of the citizen through the Consumer Affairs Committee in all stores, food places and pharmacies in the state.
