Egypt and Ghana discuss developments in the Horn of Africa and the Sudanese crisis

July 20, 2024 (PEN) The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, stressed the importance of enhancing the level of coordination and maintaining periodic consultation between the two foreign ministries, in implementation of the memorandum of understanding on establishing a mechanism. Political consultation between the two sides.

This came during a meeting held by the two ministers, on Friday, on the sidelines of the Executive Council meeting in preparation for the sixth session of the African Union Coordination Summit meeting.

The discussions covered developments in the situation in the Horn of Africa region, Egypt’s efforts to resolve the crisis in Sudan, and stressing the importance of reaching a solution acceptable to all Sudanese parties.
