Sudanese Journalists Network: The current war has fired the last bullet on the Sudanese press and professional coverage has declined

2 September 2023 (PEN) The Sudanese Journalists Network said in a statement on its Facebook account that the current war fired the last bullet on the Sudanese print press and professional coverage committed to the rules and ethics of the profession declined, adding that the result was the control of social media on all narratives of the war with false and misleading news and political propaganda.

"The suffering and tragedies of civilians are almost absent from the various media coverage, with a focus on the course of the fighting and the statements of the parties to the conflict," the network said.

In a related news, the Sudanese Journalists Syndicate said that the conditions of male and female journalists are worsening and the violations they are subjected to are increasing due to the continuation of the battles and the expansion of their geographical area in various parts of Sudan.

The syndicate said that the continuation of the war and its expansion led to the displacement of large numbers of journalists by displacing them outside Khartoum state or resorting across the border outside Sudan in very bad conditions.
