UNFPA sends 5 tons of medicines and medical equipment to South Darfur State to cover reproductive health needs

11 September 2023 (PEN) – The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has sent 5 tons of medicines and medical equipment to South Darfur State to cover the reproductive health and pregnancy emergency needs of 500,000 women and girls in the state.

"UNFPA renews its commitment to ensure that every birth is safe around Sudan," UNFPA said.

The conflict since April 15 has led to the deterioration of the infrastructure of health facilities in Sudan, according to reports of UN organizations.
