Old Atbara water station enters service again after leaving for a week

September 8, 2023 (SUNA) The old Atbara water station has entered service again after a week-long interruption due to the impact of the receding Nile since last Saturday.

Major General Muhammad Al-Amin, Commander of the Atbara Artillery Corps, led this morning a team of artillery officers, Atbara water engineers and workers at the old Atbara water station, led the efforts to enter the station by providing two excavators from the Artillery Corps Command that opened channels and water flow to the station's water pumps, in addition to the arrival of large quantities of Khashm Al-Qurba and Setet reservoirs, Awliya this evening to cover the receding area and the water flows normally.

The State Water Authority appealed to its subscribers in the various localities of the state to hedge and increase storage capacities in anticipation of any emergency.
